Blogger Brunch + Mercy Point Book Meet

July has come and gone in the blink of an eye! We caught up with three lovely authors, Steph Bowe, Lili Wilkinson, and Anna Snoekstra, and we collectively read 18 books. We still can’t believe we’re over halfway through the year now! We’ve had an incredible first half of the year and can’t wait for what the rest of 2018 will hold.

Check out our Biannual Book Club Wrap Up on our YouTube channel!

Blogger Brunch

On Sunday 29th July, we were joined by Lili Wilkinson and a bunch of awesome Melbourne bloggers to celebrate the release of Lili’s latest YA novel – After the Lights Go Out! It was so much fun to chat about Lili’s writing process and whether she’d prefer to live through the zombie apocalypse or a deadly plague over coffee and smashed avo. Thanks to everyone who came along! We’ll definitely be doing another event like this one soon.

Mercy Point Book Meet

You all know that here at The YA Room, we love supporting #LoveOzYA authors – which is why we were beyond thrilled when Anna Snoekstra’s Mercy Point was voted as our July Book of the Month! We both loved it and we’re so excited to read the sequel. It was unputdownable and that ending left us speechless!

We were lucky enough to be joined by Anna herself at our July Book Meet and got to hear all the behind-the-scenes info about the creation of Mercy Point and what we can expect next from her. And there was lots of fangirling. LOTS.

We had some really great questions from our YA Roomies – so thanks to everyone who came along to the Book Meet! It was such a lovely afternoon with all of you. Make sure you come along to our next one, where we’ll be discussing Grace & Fury!

We have a lot of exciting events coming up, so make sure you follow us on social media to get the latest information about our plans. We hope to see you there!
